The REAL Japsploitated (is that a real word?)

Karate master.

Sonny Chiba, probably the biggest star on the 70´s "japanese exploitation" movies, was the original inspiration for the name of this blog. On "classics" such as Karate Bullfighter, The Bodyguard, The Killing Machine, and the all-time supreme japsploitation movie: The Street Fighter.

Singing idiot!

Yes, I like to offend my own characters (then again, anyone who sings like that probably deserves it :D).

Sketched it during a well deserved extended holiday and "photoshoped" it a little (ok ok... actually I did a lot of post processing, cleaning and color correction, so sue me).

Ali

A long lost, unsuccessful experiment to do some caricature work. It was SUPPOSED to look like Muhammad Ali, but as you can see, it didn't worked that way.

Maybe I'll try again sometime, but I'm starting to believe that I'm not cut for that kind of work :D.

Stupid artist

A quick sketch from my sketchbook turned into a quick painting.
Yup, the hands looks smallish. I followed my original drawing almost blindly, and I didn´t paid much attention then :P.

Feeling kinda stupid today (after saying a LOT of stupid things to someone I love... sigh).

Spock

Doodled this one a while ago. Trying to sketch something else than super heroic brats ou violent people :D.

Since I sketched it on a small piece of paper, I was unable to draw the legs beyond the crotch area :P, so I edited a little to clean some stray lines and to completely remove the "offending" parts.

Chow Yun Fat

During my "formative" years (a.k.a.: before I started to work seriously), I decided to fill my portfolio with portraits of the biggest fictional bad-asses ever created.

Years later, right before giving a new lift to my official portfolio, I seriously considered to "theme" it with that kind of 70's exploitation spirit and I started to create some new "bad asses" to illustrate it (like the Gordon Liu piece).

One of the chosen guys, was the pre-Hollywood two-gun yielder chinese gangster Chow Yun Fat character Mark Gor from "A Better Tomorrow". He was supposed to ilustrate the links page :D.
